CAM is pleased to offer support for alumni of the Getty Marrow Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program to attend the 2019 CAM conference, Changing the Narrative. Interested individuals may apply for a scholarship or a fellowship. Funding for this program is supported by: 

Since its founding in 1993, the Getty Marrow Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program has supported 3,200 undergraduates, exposing these students to career possibilities in the arts at 161 museums and visual arts organizations in Los Angeles County. 

To qualify for a scholarship or fellowship as part of the CAM Getty Intern Alumni Program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements: 

1.  be an alum of the Getty Marrow Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program
2.  be working in the museum field or in a related graduate program
3.  commit to completing a post-conference evaluation form.

Please apply using our online form. In addition to contact and employment information, all applicants are asked to provide brief statement on how conference attendance would support their long term career plans. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously participated.

Participation includes:
  • a full conference registration

  • a pre-conference workshop or tour valued at $25.

  • a dialogue lunch on Friday, February 8

  • two networking opportunities 

  • a $300 to $595 travel stipend, depending on whether or not the recipient chooses to stay at the conference hotel

  • optional two-night lodging at the Parc 55

  • a one-year individual membership to CAM

CAM will provide each recipient with a choice: (1) to stay at the conference hotel for two nights, have CAM make those reservations for him/her, and be issued a $300 travel stipend; or (2) coordinate their own accommodations and be provided a travel stipend of $595. In December 2018, each recipient will be mailed a $300 or $595 check to cover travel and per diem. Their one-year individual membership to CAM will also commence at that time.

Applicants to the Getty Scholarship may also qualify for a CAM Fellowship.


In addition to supporting scholarships, the Getty Foundation is also supporting up to five CAM Fellows.  CAM Fellows receive the benefits extending to CAM Getty Intern Alumni Program but also write one case study for publication in CAM e-News and participate and help host a Lunch & Learn online webinar.   Fellowships includes a $500 stipend, lodging at the conference hotel Thursday and Friday evening of the conference, and networking opportunities . 



In addition to the criteria mentioned above, eligible applicants must meet the following criteria for a CAM Fellows award:

  1. Current graduate student or recent graduate (within 18 months) in a museum-related field AND/OR a new professional with less than five years work or volunteer experience in one or more museum

  2. Excellent writing and collaborative skills

  3. Ability to adhere to the timeline and responsibilities of being a CAM Fellow

  4. Bachelor’s Degree

  5. Current California resident
