The Volunteer Manager oversees the effective management and coordination of a large volunteer corps, including those who engage audiences in our galleries, as part of Museum programs on and offsite, ambassadors who provide welcome and wayfinding services, and general administrative volunteers. The Volunteer Manager oversees all administrative, managerial, and performance-based aspects of the volunteer program, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in customer service. The Volunteer Manager ensures the Museum has enough volunteers to fulfill its service mission, that they are deployed to service institutional goals, that they are effective ambassadors for the organization, and that they are reflective of the diversity of our visitors and the surrounding community. The position also collaborates with other departments to secure volunteers as needed for exhibitions, education, administration, corporate relations, board, community engagement and more.
