Visitor Services Associate, Part-Time

20-24 hours/week, preferred schedule of Fri-Sun w/flexibility.


The Visitor Services Associate provides excellent front-line customer service to museum guests in the lobby, by phone and email. Must provide welcoming professional service to all museum guests from individuals to groups of all sizes. Processes admission, direct incoming phone calls, and disseminate general information on exhibitions/museum programs. HS Diploma, Bachelor’s preferred. Minimum one year front-line customer service/receptionist experience. Familiarity with reception lobby tasks dealing with the general public as guests. Sensitivity to Japanese American and Asian American history, culture, and community required. Familiarity with POS system and handling money. Requires ability to multi-task with strong interpersonal, communications and organizational skills, including professional telephone etiquette. Prior non-profit experience and working with volunteers is beneficial. Computer literate (MS Office), Google Calendar, Gmail and Altru database preferred. Background Check required.
