Art Collection Assistant

The Art Collection Assistant provides administrative support for the AltaMed Art Collection team and external contract workers, and collaborates with exhibition curators and other AltaMed departments. Reports to the Associate VP & Chief Curator of the AltaMed Art Collection, in the Office of the CEO.

AltaMed is a nonprofit community healthcare network in Southern California, founded in 1969, with an art collection of 4,000 works, primarily in Chicano/Latino art that hangs in all its clinics and is exhibited around the world.

Must have excellent research and organizational skills, close attention to detail, strong written and communication skills, ability to multi-task, and to work independently and also as a member of a team.          

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.         
• Minimum 1 year curatorial or art-related experience.         
• Preferred: experience working with objects or archives, knowledge of basic museum systems and practices, proficiency in Spanish.

Pay range: $23–25/hr.
