Preparator II, Lighting Technician (Fixed-term contract)

Under work direction from the Principal Preparator and other full-time staff, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the preparation, fabrication, installation, and disassembly of exhibit displays and furniture.  May also perform highly skilled tasks including mountmaking, lighting, carpentry and graphics installation. After the receipt of specific in-house training, may directly handle and move art objects. The nature of the work involves heavy lifting, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle delicate, valuable, and irreplaceable art objects with extreme care. The Preparator II, Lighting Technician provides assistance to the Preparation department during periods of peak workload or on special projects with a specialization and focus in exhibit lighting and designs, installs and maintains exhibit lighting.  He/she must be willing to work on temporary assignments with varying schedule, number of hours and days.  *Please note, this is a fixed term contract through June 30, 2019, with the possibility of extension.  For more information and to apply, please visit:
