Under the management of the Director of Conservation, the Objects Conservator is responsible for the preservation, conservation, and technical study of objects, spanning a wide range of materials and cultures, in the Museums’ permanent collections. The Conservator will also have duties related to temporary exhibitions, acquisitions, deaccessioning, loans, public outreach and improving cross-departmental workflows. The Conservator performs their duties under minimal supervision.

  • Undertakes the conservation and treatment of three-dimensional artworks in the collection areas of African Art, American Art, Ancient Art, Art of the Americas, Contemporary Art, European Sculpture and Decorative Arts, and Oceanic Art.
  • Works with the appropriate curators and Director of Conservation to set collections care and treatment priorities.
