Curator, Technology and Special Exhibitions (Administrator, Science Programs)

The California Science Center seeks a Curator, Technology and Special Exhibitions to lead the rethinking and redesign of its 20,000 Sq. ft. technology/engineering exhibition area. As previous technology exhibits are retired, this position provides an opportunity for innovative thinking on a grand scale. Past special exhibitions have included Body Worlds, King Tut; Goose Bumps; Dead Sea Scrolls; and Pompeii.

Specific areas of responsibility include developing new science and technology exhibits on topics of broad public interest; establish and maintain relationships with the scientific community; research, book, and oversee special exhibitions under the review and approval of the President; support fundraising initiatives; and assist the Education Department in developing exhibit-related programs and materials. This opportunity is a unique State of California civil service position under the classification Administrator, Science Programs. Salary Range: $8,923 – $10,134 ($107,076 – $121,610 annually)
