The Community Catalyst Fellowship is a pilot program that aims to expand inclusive and relevant content for San Jose communities. The Fellow will be a liaison with San Jose’s LatinX community.

Key responsibilities of the position:

• Conduct need finding with SJ community partners and groups
• Assist in the translation of exhibition and interpretive materials from English to Spanish
• Organize and participate in community-driven public programs, both digital and in-person
• Work with Museum curators and guest curator to create welcoming and accessible gallery space
• Conduct bilingual tours of exhibition
• Evaluate community member experiences

Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Fine Art, Art History, Spanish, Latin American Studies preferred.
• Write and converse in English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in non-profit organizations, museum education, and/or community organizing preferred
