Based in the historic Little Tokyo neighborhood, it has a nation-wide focus and international base of support. The Communications Writer position requires broad understanding of development and marketing communications with promotional strategies across multiple applications. Works with key staff to develop concepts and write copy for a wide variety of marketing and development initiatives that deliver on strategy and are appropriate by audience and applications. Bachelors degree Journalism, Communications or English and minimum 5 years of experience in creative services position, preferably including prior employment with non-profit or museum marketing department. Background in direct-to-consumer marketing. Multi-tasker, Strong relationship management skills. Knowledge of Japanese American History and culture desired, sensitivity to issues of diversity and ethnicity is essential. Advanced MS word skills.
