The San Diego Natural History Museum is looking for a passionate mission supporting and natural history loving individual to be the Building Engineer at the San Diego Natural History Museum. This individual will report to and work with the CFO/COO to address the relevant issues affecting the property located at 1788 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101 in addition to one warehouse facility. The Building Engineer’s responsibilities include the main facility which is approximately 150,000 square feet located in one building in Balboa Park and the warehouse in Chula Vista, CA. Issues may range from coordinating tenant improvement work to preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all building systems, and identifying systems and ways to “green” the building and be more sustainable. The Building Engineer must be proficient in their understanding of different mechanical and electrical systems, and must exhibit outstanding client service and professionalism in all interactions with Museum staff, contractors, and sub-contractors. Teamwork, collaboration, and excellent communication are critical to this position’s success.
