The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is a critical member of the Interpretive Media team within the Exhibitions Division at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Under moderate supervision, the AV technician is responsible for supporting the installation, daily operation, and ongoing maintenance of the Aquarium's Interpretive Media infrastructure. Responsible for providing technical support for Public Programs throughout the Aquarium (which may include night and weekend support), resolving and documenting technical issues as they arise, and providing technical support to colleagues throughout the Aquarium while they are using Interpretive Media's AV infrastructure (within exhibitions, the auditorium, behind-the-scenes, or the Aquarium's boardroom).

The Multimedia Engineering and Integration department is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of all visitor-facing AV systems at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The AV Technician is responsible for understanding how to support, maintain, and troubleshoot all audio, video, camera, display and interactive computer systems currently in use by the Aquarium and for learning how to operate and support new systems as they are added.
