Geared towards an emerging museum educator, the Hammer Museum seeks an Assistant Educator. This two-year position aims to diversify the museum field and reduce barriers among recent college graduates from historically underrepresented groups from acquiring full-time entry-level jobs. The Assistant Educator will work as part of the Hammer Museum’s Academic Programs team to help visitors of all ages make authentic and personally relevant connections to art, one another, and the world through close looking, dialogue, and inquiry. They will train as a gallery educator and lead tours for audiences of all ages; support educational programming for family, teen, K-12 teachers and students, and university audiences; and assist with departmental administrative projects.
