The Ahmanson Curator of Native American History and Culture is responsible for the care, exhibition, development, interpretation, outreach, and stewardship of the Native and Indigenous collections of the Autry Museum, including the historic Southwest Museum collections and archives. These include significant bodies of work from Pacific Northwest, California, Southwest, and Great Plains peoples as well as First Nations of Canada and Indigenous communities in Latin America. The Autry also has a growing focus on contemporary Native arts and social concerns, and an institutional mission to place historic collections in conversation with present-day priorities of Native peoples.
