Senator John Burton Given CAM President's Award

In May 2004, CAM President Janice Lyle awarded Senator John Burton (D-San Francisco) with the President’s Award for his exemplary service to California museums. Senator Burton was elected President pro Tempore of the California State Senate, the second most powerful post in state government, in February 1998. He was elected to the Senate in 1996, representing parts of San Francisco and Sonoma County and all of Marin County, and will be retiring this year due to term limits.
