COLLECTION MANAGER / NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, LOS ANGELES
The Anthropology Department of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks a Collection Manager. Responsibilities include: cataloging, storage and care of collections; processing accessions and loans; assisting with public inquiries and visiting researchers; participation in relevant collections based public programming; work with team as needed on projects, grants, and NAGPRA compliance; and active use of computerized databases and digital technology in all aspects of collections management. Requirements: MA in Anthropology/Archeology or Museum Studies with emphasis related to collections management; minimum one year experience managing Ethnological or Archeological Collections; excellent computer skills and an interest in learning specialized software. Familiarity with NAGPRA desirable. Position is full-time and available immediately. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL GIVING, CORPORATE RELATIONS / SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (SFMOMA), SAN FRANCISCO
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is searching for a full-time Assistant Director of Institutional Giving, Corporate Relations. Under the direction of the Director of Institutional Giving, this position is responsible for managing all members of SFMOMA’s Corporate Council and either providing primary management of corporate sponsors, or providing support for SFMOMA’s highest-level corporate sponsorships. The intent of this position is to maximize corporate memberships in the $1,000 to $15,000 giving range, maximize sponsorships at the $15,000+ level, and service corporate sponsors at the highest exhibition- and event-sponsorship levels to ensure the continued growth of corporate support at SFMOMA. The successful candidate will posses a minimum of four years of experience in development, with a combination of corporate giving, staff management, working with committee members/volunteers, and arts fundraising experience. INSTITUTIONAL GIFTS ADMINISTRATOR / SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (SFMOMA), SAN FRANCISCO
SFMOMA seeks a full-time Institutional Gifts Administrator. This position will provide writing and administrative support for the institutional gifts area. Will have direct responsibility for researching potential sources of institutional funding, and will write funding proposals (including narratives and grant project budgets) and letters of request in coordination with development staff, curators, and other museum staff. Will provide support for all institutional fundraising activities, including coordinating corporate events for donor benefit recognition, and prospect cultivation; tracking and reporting progress toward fundraising goals; overseeing gift acknowledgement and renewal; maintaining a donor/prospect database; generating donor listings and reports; analyzing and reporting sponsorship and funding results; processing cash transmittals and invoices; and preparing and mailing proposal packages. Required: minimum of one year experience writing development proposals/reports and working with committee members/volunteers; excellent writing and verbal communication skills; budget preparation and management skills; expert MS Office ability and experience with Raiser’s Edge. EDUCATION ASSISTANT / MUSEUM OF LATIN AMERICAN ART, LONG BEACH
The Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) seeks a full-time Education Assistant. Reporting to the Associate VP of Education, the Education Assistant will provide administrative support to the promotion, organization and execution of MoLAA’s educational programs. Part-time position reports to Events and Rental Coordinator. Responsibilities: facilitating all aspects of birthday party program including engaging with party guests by leading participatory activities in the party room and throughout museum; handling logistics of party: cleanup and set up between parties, greeting host/hostess and birthday party child, answering questions, preparing goodie bags and other related activities; and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Associates Degree in education, art education or related field; minimum of two years experience working with children, facilitating activities, special events, birthday party programs, or other teaching experience; outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, creative; must be committed and sensitive to working with children; excellent communication skills and commitment to visitor service; organizational skills and ability to work independently and efficiently; excellent problem-solving skills; demonstrates sound judgment; works well under pressure; and extremely reliable and dependable.
