Communications/Marketing Committee: The Communications Committee oversees the policies and protocol for the CAM newsletters, web site, and marketing efforts.

Finance Committee: The Finance Committee analyzes the finances for the organization, establishes the protocol, and develops the annual budget.

Green Museums Initiative: The new Green Museums Initiative Committee oversees efforts to “green” the CAM office and programs and provide resources for California museums in developing green business practices, eco-friendly facility management, and sustainable programming.

Host Committee - 2008 CAM Conference: The Host Committee is responsible for hosting and coordinating the off-site programs at the annual conference, including evening events, pre- and post- conference tours and museum visits. The Host Committee also contributes to the designation of a Volunteer Coordinator and the bulk of conference volunteers.

Legislative Committee: The Legislative Committee oversees CAM’s legislative efforts, including the work of the lobbyist. These duties include monitoring bills and determining CAM’s positions, overseeing the Legislative Advocacy Day, participating in meetings with elected officials, and undertaking other efforts that are in the interest of California’s museums.

License Plate Committee: The License Plate Committee is working with CAM’s lobbyist and other state agencies to establish a special license plate that would result in ongoing funding for California museums and CAM.

Membership Committee: The duties of the Membership Committee are to promote membership in CAM. This includes signing letters to potential membership candidates, calling lapsed members, creating membership promotions, and other duties that promote CAM membership.

Multicultural Initiatives Committee: The goal of the new Multicultural Initiatives Committee is to increase the number of underrepresented communities in museums as paid staff members, namely individuals of Latino/Hispanic, African, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander descent. The committee oversees initiatives that support this goal.

Nominating Committee**: The Nominating Committee selects a slate of nominees for election to fill vacant seats on the board of directors. The members of the Nominating Committee are selected by the Past President.

Program Committee: The Program Committee oversees the development and implementation of CAM’s professional development programs, including the annual conference and regional workshops. The members select the locations, topics, and speakers for these programs.

Scholarship Committee: This committee sets the criteria for selecting the recipients of scholarships for the conference and workshops, reviews and evaluates the applications, and selects the recipients.
