Reports to the Director of Education and Public Programs. Responsible for: developing, managing, and evaluating K-12 programs related to youth and adult learning, including in-gallery programs, teacher professional development, lectures, and workshops; design, implementation, and evaluation of Teen Docent Program; management of Fine Arts Creativity Awards & Scholarships Program; planning, design and implementation of Arts Summer Camp; community programs including Day of the Dead, Free 2nd Sundays, and others; assisting with training and development of Docent volunteers; and expanding partnerships with other nonprofit organizations.
Masters degree in art history, arts education, museum studies or related field. Equivalent work experience considered.
Applied knowledge of educational best practices, methodologies and philosophies, visitor research/evaluation, and gallery teaching practices.
Three years of experience supervising a team.
Three years progressively responsible museum/cultural institution experience in program planning, implementation, evaluation, interpretation, and other activities for diverse audiences.
Teaching experience a plus.
Spanish fluency (speaking/writing) strongly preferred.
