The Digital Content Editor reports to the Senior Communications Manager and is responsible for planning, writing, and overseeing content for the Academy’s website. Key responsibilities include: develop and maintain an editorial calendar that delivers on the Academy’s institutional communications goals; plan and coordinate the publication of all content (text, photo, video, and streaming) for several key sections of the site. This sometimes involves creating/initiating original content, and sometimes means coordinating and editing contributions from others. Develop and implement best practices in SEO. Collaborate with cross-functional web team of developers, designers, and content providers. Ensure that all copy adheres to the Academy’s voice and tone guidelines and is consistent with the Academy’s web copy style guide. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a web writing- and editing-intensive role; science writing experience a plus.
